High school football practice begins around the lowcountry

Teams from around the Lowcountry kicked off the 2012 season on Friday afternoon with the first official practice of the year.?

For the first time in decades, 3 local teams are going into the season as defending state champions. 4A-Division II champions Goose Creek, 2A-Division I champs Timberland and 2A-Division II title winners Bishop England.?

As always, lots of eyes are on Summerville and legendary head coach John McKissick who begins his 61st season as the leader of the Green Wave. This season will only add to his grip on the record book as McKissick starts the season just 6 wins shy of 600. McKissick is still looking for his 11th state title and is in the middle of his longest streak without a state championship in his career at 13 seasons.?
