Title: Geographic Information System (GIS) Analyst - Strathcona Regional District Organization: Strathcona Regional District Geographic Information System (GIS) Analyst British Columbia?s newest regional district is seeking a qualified individual to fill the position of GIS Analyst.? This full-time permanent position is based in the beautiful coastal city of Campbell River.? This seaside community is the gateway to a region rich in natural and cultural diversity. The GIS Analyst provides a wide range of mapping and spatial analysis services.? The position supports the operational, administrative, corporate and financial aspects of Regional District business through technical guidance, data contract administration and provision of mapping products and related information.? Reporting to the Community Services Manager, a significant component of the position is the delivery of mapping products for land use planning, engineering services, parks services, building and emergency services.? The GIS Analyst also provides services and advice to Regional District mapping clients on an as needed basis.? As a primary information technology specialist within the organization, the GIS Analyst may provide graphic design, desktop publishing or website based expertise to the organization.? As a key member of the Regional District team, the GIS Analyst will maintain and assist with development of appropriate mapping policies and procedures. Qualifications for this position include: Bachelor?s Degree in GIS or closely related discipline with GIS focus, or an equivalent amount of education, training and experience; Minimum of three years of GIS land use mapping experience A detailed job description, outlining the duties and qualifications is available on request.?
